Five stars for every Lidia cookbook. This is a Christmas present for me (so I won't open it until Christmas). I have never made a recipe from Lidia's cookbooks that our family has not loved. I like that Lidia uses ingredients that are easy to find, and also that she shows readers how to prepare less expensive and uncommon cuts of meat. Her advice is to use fresh ingredients (I agree); learn to cook economically, and use more parts of meats and vegies that you purchase (I agree); taste as you cook; let family help...and more. I watch her PBS shows and have been intrigued by the bits of Italian she drops in, and have recently begun to learn Italian on the free "Memrise" app. Much fun and brain stimulating.-Audrey Quran
